Thanks for inviting me to guest blog, James.  Until now I really haven’t had much to post about, but you are about to read about a plethora of things that have been in the works since the new year.  I recently joined the ranks of the Jersey City Craft Mafia, the newest addition to the Craft Mafia Family and the first in New Jersey of its kind.  I’ve met some really amazing Jersey City crafters and artists so far and I’m excited to see where this is going.  We’ve already got a few really big plans in the works. You can friend the Craft Mafia on Facebook, or come to an upcoming event like the Not Yo Mama’s Craft Fair being run by our friends at L.I.T.M.on March 28th, or the big ART ATTACK! happening in April.  I’ll be selling some of my handmade goods, and so will other members of the Craft Mafia, as well as friends from neighboring villages like Manhattan and Brooklyn. We really want to see Jersey City represented here.  We are also teaming up with the Stockinette Cafe to throw a Cinco de Mayo Mix Tape Party and teach classes.  Our first class is on April 19th, on cartooning. Our first solo event is at Club H next month, and we are already getting lots of applications from vendors and participation from the community.  Anyone who might be remotely interested should definitely get in touch soon.  I’m so excited to be part of all of this and I know Draw and Quarter readers will be glad to see this stuff going on at a grassroots level.
